Who we Are

Our History

IM VALID (Immigrant Mothers Victims of Abuse Living in Denmark) began in 2020 as a peer-support Facebook group. Since then, it has grown into a registered NGO, led by a dedicated board of four women. Today, IM VALID manages five affiliated Facebook support groups—four private and one public—bringing together a community of approximately 350 women. We are committed to advocating for the rights of immigrant mothers and their children, particularly those impacted by domestic violence.

Our Mission

IM VALID aims to empower immigrant mothers in Denmark who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence by providing information, guidance, and protection. At the heart of our work is peer support, where women can connect with others who understand their struggles, fostering a strong and supportive community. We strive to help women rebuild their lives by connecting them with financial assistance, therapeutic services, and legal aid.

IM VALID also works to raise awareness and strengthen collaboration with Danish organizations to improve support for immigrant women and children affected by domestic violence. By working together, we aim to increase access to essential services and create a more inclusive and effective support system.
